A pipeline compressor station is designed to accommodate different applications with the respect to moving natural gas through pipeline. One application is in relationship to a gas gathering compressor station where gas is gathered through a series of pipelines from the drilled well head at a lower pressure and is ran through the compressors where the pressure is increased and sent down a pipeline to a series of processing plant.
Tank battery installations are designed to separate the oil, gas, and water as it is either pumped out the ground or flows out of the ground on its own pressure. The oil is stored in tanks to be either trucked away or in some facilities it is pumped also down a pipeline to a processing plant. The water is used to reinject into the ground in disposals wells drilled for that purpose. The gas then is moved through pipelines to compressor stations where it is sent to a facility where it is processed into different products that are the make up of the natural gas.
Refrigeration gas plants take the natural gas from wells and process the gas taking the heaviest liquid ethane and separating it from the natural gas. A refrigeration gas plant uses liquid propane in the process to cool the gas. A refrigeration gas plant recovers about 75% of the liquids in the natural gas.
Gasoline truck loading and storage facilities consist of large storage tanks where different grade of gasoline and diesel are piped to the facilities from refinery´s and stored for use at gas stations and commercial use. Part of the facility is built for truck loading where tanker trucks can load the different grade of gasoline and diesel and disperse to various places such as gas stations and commercial facilities.
Cryogenic gas plants uses temperatures and pressures to remove 95% of the ethane liquids from the natural gas. They are more efficient then the refrigeration gas plant removing the ethane liquids from the natural gas. Propane and Butane are two of the products that are removed from the natural gas in a Cryogenic plant.
